    Great interview. Totally agree with the kid part. Parents just don’t talk to their children about race. Maybe they just don’t think it’s an issue. I was a pretty confused child growing up. When I was very small I ran to my (Mexican) grandmothers house and yelled “Grandma, grandma…Nella (my older sister) is playing with Mexicans!!!” She asked me what I thought I was, and I told her I was white. I had no clue I was half Mexican.
