Who am I? For me, the answer goes something like this: I am a no-nonsense journalist, teacher, art lover, wife, and mother of two.

As one-half of the parenting duo who will help Simone and Nadia decide who they are, I’ve been giving the idea of who I am a lot of thought. For much of my life claiming a race has been easy. I’m black, plain and simple. Well, I’m mostly black. As for the rest, I don’t really know. Family legend has it, my blood is a mix of black, Cherokee and white. The legend is no longer good enough, and I have decided I’m going to find out who I am for me and for my daughters. Do you know who you are?
