So much parenting news, so little time. Here are just a few things that crossed my computer this week that I just couldn’t ignore.

Breastfeeding on Sesame Street. Apparently, it used to happen. Who knew?

18-year-old mother who shot intruder. I would protect my children at any cost but don’t believe in keeping guns in the house. Read the stats on that one. Having a gun in the home increases the possibility of someone being shot in the home or someone using the gun to take his or her own life.

Beyonce is now a role model for black mothers. I don’t think so. If she nurses her baby in public, I may reconsider.

Letting children cry it out kills brain cells. Sleep divides parents into two camps. Those who get it and those who do not. I was not sleep deprived and will not feel guilty about it.

Lying to children. Some parents say it’s okay to lie to their children. I say lying breeds more lying.  Where and when does it stop? Get a clue, people.

Airlines want to charge a fee to families who want to sit together. Really? I have no words.

The hospital has debunked that story that one man told to several media outlets re: Blue Ivy and NICU.

I expect the hospital to deny everything. It has everything to gain and everything to lose. The man who complained has more credibility than any of the other folks involved. The health department dismissed the complaints, but no one has debunked anything.
